LoRaWAN Network Settings
Radio band, channels, activation type, and range.
The 4-20mA Node shares its radio characteristics with the rest of the VIoT range, communicating with a Vandyam VIoT Gateway over the 865 MHz band across three channels — 865.0625 MHz, 865.4025 MHz, and 865.9850 MHz — each with 125kHz channel bandwidth. Transmit power is specified at 22dBm, somewhat lower than the RS-485 Node's website figure, which is worth being aware of when planning gateway placement.
Network join follows standard LoRaWAN OTAA practice, with each unit provisioned at manufacture with the DevEUI, AppEUI, and AppKey needed to authenticate and join automatically the first time it powers on within range of a compatible gateway — no manual key entry needed on site.
